Right now, it is the time of year when students receive their college admissions notices and scholarship funding packages. Scholarship money can make all the difference to a young person’s education. The Greenwich Police Department Scholarship Fund (GPSF) grants scholarship money to qualifying students of current Greenwich Police Officers. They are asking the community to support the officers who help keep our community safe, by contributing, however big or small, to the Fund for the future of the Officer’s children. The fund relies on the support of both individual contributions as well as a group of local businesses.

In the 2020-2021 school year, 26 GPDSF scholarships were funded. The number of supported students is expected to increase next school year based on the number of current high school seniors. “Greenwich has such a strong sense of community, and we are very appreciative of the community’s support to our scholarship fund,” said Chief of Police James Heavey.

Alice + Olivia, the national clothing shop on Greenwich Avenue, values the safety and protection of Police Officers on Greenwich Ave. On Thursday, April 8, Alice + Olivia, will offer shoppers 10% off their purchase and will also contribute an additional 10% to the Greenwich Police Department Scholarship Fund. With temperatures rising and everyone eager to enjoy the outdoors, it is an excellent time for a spring wardrobe edit while supporting the GPD Scholarship Fund. Alice + Olivia store manager Brianna Forchetti explained, “we all need to bring some new style to our wardrobes after a year of in-home sheltering. Come in and see our latest arrivals and support the students of the Greenwich Police Department. Wardrobe flair meets community support, what a great combination.”
