WESTON, CT – Surround yourself with history and autumn splendor! The Weston Historical Society is leading tours of the historic Coley Homestead located at 104 Weston Road in Weston, CT on Saturday, October 17, 2020 at 10:00am, 11:30am, 1:00pm & 2:30pm. Registration is required and tours are capped at 8 people. Suggested donation of $5.00 per person. Each tour is limited to 8 people to allow for social distancing. Masks must be worn at all times during the tour. We ask that you practice social distancing while on the tour. This is to keep you and others safe. Thank you for your cooperation.
The Coley Homestead dates back to the 19th century. Learn the history of this former working farm, it’s buildings which include the Coley House circa 1841, the Coley Barn circa 1883 as well as its numerous outbuildings – a carriage house and bunkhouse – one of the last in Connecticut. Learn about generations of the Coley family who lived and worked on the homestead, and explore the history of farming in Weston with a brief visit inside the Coley Barn. An overview of the town’s history will be woven in throughout the tour.
The tour takes place outside. Please wear sturdy footwear and dress for the weather. Parking for the Weston Historical Society is accessed from High Acre Road. If there is severe inclement weather, the tours will be rescheduled for Sunday, October 18, 2020. The tickets you reserved will be honored on this date.
