Stamford, CT – This Saturday, August 28, SoundWaters will host their annual HarborFest event following a year hiatus due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

The waterfront festival will consist of mini golf, dockside boat tours, the Aquarion Cardboard Kayak Race, and a celebratory fireworks display. The fireworks are scheduled to begin at 8:30 pm from the 14 acre parcel in Harbor Point and will end at approximately 8:55 pm.

Residents are advised to adhere to CDC and City guidelines on mask/facial coverings in outdoor areas with over 100 persons present.

Residents are also advised to practice reasonable social distancing when possible to help combat against the spread of the highly infectious Delta variant.

“The SoundWaters HarborFest is an excellent opportunity for Stamford residents to come together safely and in compliance with CDC guidelines and enjoy all that our City’s stunning Waterfront district has to offer. I look forward to attending the event and once again crowing the victor of the Cardboard Kayak Race with the Mayor’s Trophy,” said Mayor David Martin.

Pet-owners are advised to be aware of the fireworks and take precautions with their animals.

The fireworks can be viewed from Kosciuszko Park located at 200 Elmcroft Rd, along the boardwalk on Southfield Avenue, along the waterfront boardwalk at Harbor Point, and Boccuzzi Park located at 200 Southfield Ave.

Free parking for the event will be available in a number of the parking structures in the Southend. The City strongly encourages people to park and walk to the fireworks to avoid traffic congestion and delay.
