STAMFORD, CT – Today, Mayor Caroline Simmons announced that PCR testing provider Accu Reference has opened an additional COVID-19 testing site to meet the continuous demand for testing as COVID-19 rates have climbed in recent weeks.

The new site is located at 689 Canal Street, the former location of Fairway Grocery Store in Stamford’s South End. It has been made available to the city at no cost by LoanCore Capital, a Connecticut based asset management firm focused on commercial real estate credit.

The site launched on Thursday, January 6th, and will operate weekly Monday – Friday from 8:00 am – 3:00 pm and Saturday – Sunday from 9:00 am – 2:00 pm. Tests are made by appointment only, and can be made here. Schedules for COVID-19 testing sites can be found here.

“As we continue to see the high demand for COVID-19 testing across Stamford and our state, I’m grateful that Accu Reference is making this additional site available and adding to our overall testing capacity,” said Mayor Simmons. “The City and our Health Department will continue working with partners to provide more testing options for Stamford residents. As always, we continue to encourage vaccinations and boosters as the best way to keep our neighbors and loved ones safe and healthy.”
