STAMFORD, CT – The Stamford Senior Center invites the community to save the date for its annual ‘Lives Blossom’ fundraising event on Thursday, May 5, 2022 at 6pm at The Village in Stamford, CT.

Tickets will go on sale on February 1st for this festive annual tradition filled with networking, cocktails, hors d’oeuvres and a lively silent auction. The event raises critical funds for the Stamford Senior Center’s wide array of active and engaging programs. A lifeline for nearly 900 members, the non-profit organization offers programs that promote healthy aging and opportunities for social engagement and reducing loneliness.

During the pandemic, many seniors experienced prolonged social isolation, and the organization took action to keep them connected and cared for. They became a ‘senior center without walls’, delivering prepared meals and groceries, moving programs online, outdoors and also offering cheerful drive-through events.

The pandemic also put a damper on the organization’s fundraising efforts. The 2020 Lives Blossom fundraising event was cancelled for the safety of the community, and was not held in 2021 either, due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

“We are thrilled to announce that our signature fundraiser is planned for the spring, and we could not be happier,” said Christina Crain, Stamford Senior Center Executive Director. “This beloved tradition is a fun evening that helps us to enrich the lives of seniors in our community throughout the year.”

Please save the date to attend this special evening which makes a tremendous difference for those seniors who call the Stamford Senior Center their home away from home. Visit StamfordSeniorCT.org to purchase advance tickets and learn more. Sponsorship opportunities are also available.
