Norwalk, CT – Family & Children’s Agency (FCA) is thrilled to announce that their annual Mother’s Day Tea on Tuesday, April 25, 2023, at Nordstrom’s Bazille Bistro in The SoNo Collection broke the event’s attendance record with more than 100 people in attendance.

The event, hosted by Julene Greenshields of Wilton and Brigitte Mansourian of Darien, featured a special book signing and remarks by Lydia Fenet, author of “The Most Powerful Woman in the Room is You” and “Claim Your Confidence.”

The Mother’s Day Tea is dedicated to honoring the memory of Charlotte Taverna of Wilton and Allison Haupt of Darien, two beloved volunteers who left a lasting impression on FCA. The funds raised from the event support FCA and the memorial funds established in their honor. The event also featured a raffle and a giving tree, further enhancing the sense of community spirit. Charlotte’s daughter, Caroline, and Allison’s husband, Colin, spoke about their loved ones and their dedication to FCA.

In addition, attendees learned about FCA’s Child & Family Development program, which provides home visiting services to help parents learn about child development, access maternal mental health services, create strong family foundations, and ensure children enter kindergarten ready to learn.

Karina Mendez, a CFD program client, shared her inspiring story.

“There’s no school for parents, and I had a lot of questions. It was so comforting to have a home visitor who was an expert and could help me figure out what to expect,” she said.

“I am incredibly grateful to all who attended our Mother’s Day Tea and helped us make it the most successful one yet. The funds raised will make a real difference in the lives of those we serve, and we are so glad to have once again honored Charlotte and Allison,” said Family & Children’s Agency President & CEO Robert F. Cashel.
